Who We Are & What We Do
The Mind's Eye Theatre Company strives to provide theater that entertains, inspires, and challenges our ever growing audience and talented artistic family. We work to create experiences that stimulate new ways of thinking and collaboration. We hold ourselves accountable to bring quality entertainment to our community and recognize the value in diversity. METC endeavors to bring new voices to light and to stretch our understanding of an inclusive world on and off the stage. We pride ourselves on our love of community by providing community theater to and for everyone.
After working on many shows together, Janet Morris and Jeff Ketterman discovered they both had unfulfilled theatrical needs. Jeff wanted more opportunity to do things on the production side of theater, and Janet desired to spend more time directing shows. One evening at a theater friend's gathering, Jeff and Janet discussed starting a new theater company. In 2012 the legal paperwork was signed and our company was born.
Where'd the name come from? Janet envisioned set designs and the actor's blocking for shows to be discovered through the mind's eye, thus our name was coined, Mind's Eye Theatre Company!

Janet and Jeff worked together to bring quality theater to Kentuckiana from 2013 - 2017.
At the end of 2017, Jeff decided he was ready to pursue other endeavors and made the decision to leave the company in Janet's very capable hands. At that time, Janet invited Valerie Canon and Kim Hartz to join the METC Board.
In mid 2018, Janet moved a move from the Kentuckiana area, and felt it best to leave Mind's Eye Theatre Company with Valerie and Kim at the helm. Valerie and Kim then invited Mandy Kramer, Jennifer Starr, and Mary Stuart Peace to join the Board to add more voices and support to the company they all loved so much.
After bringing two more quality productions to the stage in 2019, Kim decided to leave the Board to focus on her family. In mid- 2020, Maggie Hartman was invited to join the Board.
We are proud to be one of the only woman lead companies in the Kentucky and Indiana area.
